What is a Private GP Appointment?
A private GP appointment can be the same or the next day and if required it can be a home visit. All appointments can be face to face or by remote telephone or video consultation and this can be chosen by the patient at the time of booking.
This service does not replace your NHS registered GP Practice and following your consultation a letter will be sent to the patient and your registered GP practice providing information and recommendations to your NHS registered GP.
How long is the appointment?
It can be a short 15-minute session or longer with 30 minute and 60-minute options for more in-depth consultations. So, you have the time to go through what’s worrying you and find out why you’re feeling unwell.
Sometimes you may want to discuss more than one health concern, but there simply isn’t time in a standard NHS appointment – or it could be you just want a second opinion. With a private GP appointment you can have as much time as you need to discuss such things as blood tests, scans, and referrals to see specialists can be arranged there and then.
At your appointment, you can talk about any medical condition, in complete confidence. Your notes will not be passed on to your NHS doctor, unless you ask us to. You can have a second opinion if you’ve had a diagnosis that you are not happy with. If your private GP thinks you should see a one of our specialist consultants, it can be arranged without delay or waiting lists.
Our private GPs are fully qualified and registered with the GMC. You can arrange a morning, afternoon or evening appointment Monday to Saturday. Or if it’s more convenient, you can have an appointment by telephone or video call at home or where you work. This means that one of our private GPs is always here for you.
