Julie Taylor

Nurse Practitioner

Julie is an experienced NMC registered nurse. For most of her working life she has worked within the NHS and has a broad clinical knowledge base, including a specialist knowledge of bladder and bowel health.
Julie has started a new role training to become a Parkinson’s nurse specialist. Working with neurology consultants and specialist nurses in hospital, clinic, and community settings, prior to the pandemic hitting.

In early March 2020 she was deployed to a frontline post but became unwell with acute Covid-19 in May 2020 and subsequently lives with Long Covid.
She started a podcast in February 2022 with the aim of supporting people with Long Covid to not feel alone in their journey. She has now reached over 14,000 people and says that she feels honoured to be able to offer this support across the globe. She has had a variety of guests on the podcast who she has learnt an enormous amount from, on all elements of Long Covid and associated conditions.

Julie’s personal lived experience and clinical knowledge has enabled her to learn how to identify her symptom triggers and in turn apply a variation of symptom management strategies to improve quality of life and energy management. She aims to support others to do the same, using a patient centred and holistic approach.

Julie can offer support with some of the very practical aspects of managing Long Covid, including the planning of a return to work. She is also a qualified life coach and can support people to identify their personal goals and make progress toward them, gaining a greater fulfilment in their life.

Julie says that she is fortunate to be working alongside Dr. Binita Kane who is at the forefront of advocacy, research and treatment of Long Covid.
